Lake Tenkiller
For a belated celebration of Dad’s birthday, we went to visit Dad’s cousin Paul and see his houseboat on Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. Pics from the trip and a virtual tour of this amazing boat can be found on his newly created website, TheLazyLou.com. I’m working to gather more info about the boat and stories of how it was made.

New York City
I finally visited NYC…too bad it was mainly for business. I have a new client in Norwalk, CT, so we flew in to NYC to catch a Mets game, dinner in Little Italy, and lunch in da’ Bronx. I’m looking forward to future visits to the client, so I can see more of NYC!
Fireworks!
Kate and I went up the road to Parkville with a couple friends to watch the fireworks. Over dinner, it came up that I had never won a stuffed animal for Kate. So…to protect my manly image I won her the biggest stuffed animal at the whole carnival!
Duck Derby
Kate bought a duck in KC’s annual Duck Derby charity event. He didn’t make it to the finish line very quickly, so no motorcycle for us… but the event was fun to watch!
Bruno
That’s right folks, I am now a cat owner. Well, a co-owner. Kate and I went to the animal shelter today and found a cute little black shorthair that quickly stole Kate’s heart. We have named the ~3 month old kitten Bruno. I just hope all the air purifiers we purchased keep the apartment relatively allergen free.
Brunch!
Kate and I went up to Mt. Pleasant last weekend to bring the Volkswagen down to Kansas City so we can drive and enjoy it this summer. While we were there, Dad planned quite the brunch and invited as many old friends as he could. It was great, until I left in the Volkswagen only to have its transmission go out 50 miles down the road! Kate and I limped it back to Mt. Pleasant and we’ll try again sometime in July. It was really good to see everyone that came, thank you!
GWAR
GWAR blessed the stage at Crossroads KC last night and my apartment management blessed me with with free tickets. I spent the evening watching GWAR battle for their Frank Sinatra Belts of Total World Domination and getting covered in blood. Finally do I understand the true meaning of Styx’s quote from college, “There was blood everywhere…EVERYWHERE!”
Trolley Run 2009
My friend Garrett convinced me to do the Trolley Run with him this year. It’s a 4mi run from Waldo to the Plaza in KC, and advertised as one of the easiest 4 miles you’ll ever run because it’s mostly downhill. I finished with a time of 31:18 – much better than expected! Of course I was very sore the next day.

Dad and Cindy Jones
Dad and Cindy Jones visited Kate and me in KC a couple weekends ago. We showed them Westport, the new Power and Light District, and some great BBQ!
4 Years with Kate!
Kate and I celebrated our 4 year anniversiary last weekend in Fulton, MO at the Loganberry Inn B&B.
